The CRC supports collective efforts towards promoting alternative mobility strategies in the West Island. Since 2014 and in partnership with MOBA, the CRC has coordinated a concerted strategy mobilizing key stakeholders of the community. Many actions have been implemented since:
- The development of a portrait of mobility in the West Island (in French only).
- A consultation process including:
- A public event
- A survey (more than 200 survey participants)
- A workshop with West Island urbanists and other experts (Vélo-Québec, Grame, etc.)
- Click here to read the report summarizing the consultation.
- Development of recommendations (in French only) in regards to mobility during the Montreal Agglomeration consultation on social development.
- Development of recommendations (in French only) during the public consultation in regards to the housing development in Pierrefonds Ouest.
The CRC, in collaboration with MOBA and PME MTL West Island, now coordinates the Urbanists Table, where members of all urban planning departments of the West island municipalities and borough meet. The 2018-2019 action plan for the urbanists Table includes a series of thematic meetings on alternative mobility, where urbanists will be able to discuss their ideas and preoccupations with experts (e.g., STM, Vélo Québec, CMM, Montreal Agglomeration Council, BIXI, etc.).
