West Island Community Shares, in collaboration with Volunteer West Island are hosting a Speed Dating event on May 11 for those interested in joining a board of directors. A panel of professionals will share their insights and answer your questions as you learn what it means to serve on a board, what’s expected and how you can strengthen the West Island.  

Did You Know?

The West Island Crisis Center is offering a new support group focused on motivation and goal setting. Participants will have the opportunity to explore different types of motivation, learn how to set realistic goals (including SMART goals), and discuss concepts such as self-compassion, kindness, and self-esteem. Empowering Newcomer Families Together: An AMCAL Family Services and the West Island Community Resource Center (CRC) collaboration created to help guide newly arrived families to Quebec living in the West Island to resources and services they may need.

 A new program offered by Projet Communautaire de Pierrefonds that matches mothers together in the community to help and support one another and build friendships.  Register here to participate.
